Spring 2025 Soil Pit Day

Join Us for a Tour of Iconic Corvallis-Area Agricultural Soils to Fundraise for OSSS!
Meet at OSU Crop and Soil Science Building 3050 SW Campus Way, Corvallis, OR, 97333

Cost of Admission: $20 General Registration (if you are looking for the Student Registration, click HERE).

We will then carpool to two different field stops, where we will:
Demonstrate soil pit excavation protocols
Describe and classify the pits (lead by our OSU Pedology Professor, Yakun Zhang!)
Discuss the historic land use and importance of soil properties for agriculture and other practices

When we finish up with the pit visits, we will return to the meeting locations, and for those interested, will meet up at a local pub for the soils social hour and fundraising!
We are working on partnering with a local restaurant or pub to raise funds for the OSSS Scholarship and Events Fund!
