Spring 2025 Corvallis Pit Day Showcase
Join us for a tour of iconic Corvallis-area agricultural soils to fundraise for OSSS!
The goal of our Corvallis Pit Day is to get more members of the soils community involved with a local, hands-on workshop, where we will demonstrate the process of excavating, preparing, and classifying a soil pit profile. The discussion of the soil morphology will be lead by OSU’s Pedology instructor, Dr. Yakun Zhang.
This event is open to the public! Whether you are an experienced soil researcher, current OSU soils student, or a novice gardener interested in learning more about the ground beneath us, you are welcome to join! We will be providing more info about OSSS, promoting our upcoming events for the next year, and selling our wonderful merch (which directly supports our student scholarship and event funds).
